Intergrain Liquid 8 Timber Stripper is a high-performance, deep-penetrating solution designed to remove most water and solvent-based coatings. This product is NMP and MC free, making it safer for interior usage. The fast-acting, easy-to-use, water-soluble gel timber finish and paint remover effectively eliminates coatings such as marine, automotive, and industrial paints, acrylics, polyurethanes, and varnishes.
To prepare the surface, remove any surface dirt by sweeping or washing down with water. For application, apply a thick coat using a broad synthetic bristle brush, taking care on vertical or overhanging surfaces as Liquid 8 Timber Stripper may drip. Allow 15-20 minutes for the product to penetrate and soften or wrinkle the coating. Test with a scraper to ensure the coating is easily removed, then proceed to remove it using a paint scraper or high-pressure water cleaner. On timber surfaces, work in the direction of the grain. For curved or rough surfaces or moldings, use a synthetic hard bristle brush or scourer. Ensure the stripper remains active by keeping it wet, and cover with a plastic drop sheet if necessary. Some oil-based coatings may continue to bubble and strip even after the stripper has been removed. Thick or stubborn coatings may require more than one application. Clean stripped surfaces thoroughly with water and allow to dry, then sand as necessary to remove any residue and grain raise before refinishing the surface.
