It is versatile enough to be used on both timber and light gauge steel framed structures. Thanks to its superior tensile bond strength, Villaboard lining can support thicker tiles higher on the wall, outperforming plasterboard by up to 75% when dry and 300% when wet. Its high impact resistance makes it a smart choice for areas prone to wear and tear, and its homogeneous nature allows for easy tile adjustments without damaging the substrate.
When used with HardieSmart™ wall systems, Villaboard lining offers up to 60 minutes of fire rating and is suitable for internal bracing. Its composition from James Hardie fibre cement ensures superior resistance to moisture damage, maintaining its structural integrity even when wet. This reduces the risk of costly rectifications due to moisture damage in both commercial and residential applications. Independent tests conducted in accordance with ASTM D3273-00 have shown no mould growth, earning Villaboard lining a perfect rating of 10. Additionally, it is resistant to damage from termites, rot, and fire.
