Designed specifically for high-moisture and high-traffic areas, Villaboard lining is an ideal internal wall and ceiling solution for bathrooms, laundries, kitchens, and other demanding spaces in residential, medium-density, and commercial buildings. It is versatile enough to be used on both timber and light gauge steel framed structures. Thanks to its robust composition, Villaboard lining maintains its strength even when wet, offering up to 75% greater tensile bond strength than wet area plasterboard when dry, and an impressive 300% greater when wet. This makes it a superior choice for areas that require thicker tiles higher on the wall.
The high impact resistance of Villaboard lining makes it an excellent option for high-traffic areas prone to wear and tear. Additionally, its homogeneous nature allows for easy tile adjustments without damaging the substrate, should a tiler make a mistake. When used with HardieSmart™ wall systems, it offers up to 60 minutes of fire rating and is suitable for internal bracing. Made from James Hardie fibre cement, Villaboard lining is inherently resistant to moisture damage, ensuring it won't deform or lose structural integrity even if it gets wet. This results in fewer costly rectifications due to moisture damage in both commercial and residential applications. Independent tests conducted in accordance with ASTM D3273-00 have shown no mould growth, earning it a perfect rating of 10. Additionally, Villaboard lining is resistant to damage from termites, rot, and fire.
