Experience the transformative power of Intergrain UltraDeck Timber Stain, a long-lasting, semi-transparent, water-based stain that offers exceptional durability for exterior timber. This fast-drying, low-odour finish not only enhances the colour of treated pine and revives faded timber but also protects against the damaging effects of weathering and ageing. Ideal for a variety of applications, UltraDeck Timber Stain can be overcoated with Intergrain UltraClear Exterior for a gloss, satin, or matt finish on doors and window trims. Suitable for decking, cladding, doors, window frames, screening, fences, garage doors, walkways, and weatherboards, this versatile stain is your go-to solution for all exterior timber needs.
Proper preparation is key to achieving the best results with Intergrain UltraDeck Timber Stain. For maintenance coats, clean the surface with Intergrain UltraPrep™ Timber Cleaner if the existing coating is in good condition. New timber should be treated with Intergrain UltraPrep Tannin & Oil Remover and then cleaned with Intergrain UltraPrep Timber Cleaner. For new feature timber like doors and windows, sand to a uniform, smooth surface and ensure it is free from dirt, dust, wax, and oils. For grey and weathered timber with no previous coating, clean with Intergrain UltraPrep Timber Cleaner and sand back to a fresh surface if severely weathered. For existing coatings in poor condition, remove the coating using a combination of Intergrain UltraPrep Tannin & Oil Remover and power washing, followed by cleaning with Intergrain UltraPrep Timber Cleaner. If mould is present, use Intergrain UltraPrep Mould Killer as the first step.
Application
- Remove excess water and allow the timber to dry for at least 1 hour before coating. Stir Intergrain UltraDeck Timber Stain thoroughly before and during use.
- Test in a small area to ensure satisfaction with the colour and finish. Apply 2-3 coats for the best indication of the final colour.
- Apply using the Intergrain DeckBrush (recommended), flat deck applicator, paintbrush, or spray. Do not use a roller. Apply at a coverage rate of 6-12m²/L.
For maintenance, conduct a routine 12-month inspection. Colour fade is the first sign that recoating is needed. Best protection and ease of maintenance are ensured if Intergrain UltraDeck Timber Stain is recoated before the deterioration of the coating and timber underneath occurs. To refresh timber with significant signs of weathering, greying, or mould, prepare the surface as per the directions under preparation.
