Preparation is key to achieving the best results. For bare timber, scrub damp timber with Cabot's New Timber Prep following the label instructions. This will draw out tannins and oils quickly, allowing you to skip the 4-6 weeks weathering process required for new timber. Always follow New Timber Prep with Cabot's Deck Clean as per the label instructions. For previously stained and oiled timber, clean the surface with Cabot's Deck Clean and test if the surface is ready for coating by sprinkling water on the timber. For weathered and grey timber, sand back to fresh substrate and clean with Cabot's Deck Clean.
